Welcome!

The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center (formerly the Riverside Humane Society) is a unique domestic animal adoption center.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, updated on all vaccinations and microchipped upon adoption. They enjoy indoor, comfortable kennels and are socialized by our group of 300 volunteers on a regular basis.

Our mission is to eliminate the suffering of homeless cats and dogs by:

  • Providing humane care for pets in transition
  • Facilitating adoptions to loving homes
  • Providing humane and pet overpopulation education to the public
  • Supporting sterilization of companion animals

The Adoption Center is a limited-entry facility that takes in healthy, adoptable animals. Most of our dogs and cats are surrendered by people who can no longer care for their pet. When space allows, we also transfer animals from local animal control facilities.

Because we are an adoption center, we have a constant turnover. Visiting our adoption center is the best way to find the pet that you are looking for. However, if you cannot visit, check our website on a regular basis for new available pets.

The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center does not receive any funding from any national animal organization. All of our funding is received through private donations, fundraising efforts and grants.

We hope you will visit us soon.

Ten golfers and twelve sponsors raised over $45,000 for the Adoption Center.

We thank them from the bottom of our paws to the tips of our tails!
