Who Are We?

The Riverside Humane Society Pet Adoption Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public benefit charitable organization committed to giving adoptable dogs and cats a second chance for a healthy and happy life by finding them good, loving homes.

The Riverside Humane Society is a private, limited-entry pet adoption center.  No healthy, adoptable animal is ever put to sleep. When dogs and cats are accepted into the Adoption Center, they stay with us until they are adopted.  Prior to adoption, each animal is either spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and receives all necessary vaccinations.  The average time these homeless critters  reside at the adoption center is 2 weeks to 6 months.

The animal residents are accepted from owners who can no longer care for them or from local animal control shelters. Adopting a dog, puppy, cat or kitten from our Adoption Center involves the completion of an application, interview with an adoption counselor and counseling on the health and care of your new pet.  This is done to ensure that the animals will be well cared for in a permanent, loving and responsible home.  We ask for a donation when surrendering your pet. The adoption fees range from $75 to $200.  These fees are based on many factors and include the cost of spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and basic health needs.
