Toys

Toys can be very important to a dog’s well being. Toys provide entertainment and often comfort to dogs. Having toys specifically for your dog to play with will help prevent him from selecting “toys” of his own, such as shoes, and garden hoses, or seeking out “entertainment” such as digging, and escaping. To find the types of toys that best suits your dog, you must discover what suits his personality and needs.

  1. Dogs who are active and people oriented may prefer toys that they can play with their own, such as tennis balls, Frisbees, and tug-of-war rope toys.
  2. Dogs who are “busy” by nature and get bored easily may prefer interactive toys such as a “busy-box” with hidden treats inside.
  3. Dogs who prefer cuddling to active play may prefer a comfort toy such as a soft stuffed toy.
